The staff Dr Herzig are a class act.I had cataract surgery in both eyes on the same day, Im sorry I waited so long.

I just completed the process of cataract surgery with light adjustable lens exchange.The Herzig team were all very personable, professional and efficient and Im more than pleased with the outcome - surpassed my expectations. A special thanks to Leanne for her positive energy and prompt response to my many queries and to Dr. Baig. Dr. Baig was consistently calm, patient and very clear in his explanations and responses to my concerns. He never appeared rushed, even at the end of a very busy day where things had gotten a bit backed up.I did find my first pre-op in October less than re- assuring when the documented procedure and dominant eye were incorrect, and I was told a sedative I was concerned about was not used - when in fact it is routinely part of the procedure. A bit more attention to detail may be required here.A few other recommendations I would make include 1. Providing more advanced notice choice of follow- up appointment times. I realize the specialized nature of this procedure the coordination with many team members makes this tricky but, there were at least 2 instances where 2-5 weeks notice could have been at least tentatively provided - instead of less than one. This did improve when I made a bit of a fuss. 2. I wonder if there might be some re- cycling process that could be explored for all the post-op glasses -that are headed for the blue box 3. A coat rack!Thanks to all for my new vision- I would definitely recommend Herzig Dr. Baig.

Edit: the admin team and especially Sophia are very helpful in assisting me to avoid getting my drivers license suspended.The operation itself was a good experience; the medical team was compassionate and professional, but the admin team really dropped the ball multiple times.1. After the first consultation, I never received the follow up information promised and I had to chase the admin team to do the next step.2. Post operation, the admin team promised to send the form to the ministry of transportation to update my drivers license, but they forgot to do it.3. A month later, when I asked them to send in the form, they sent in an empty form which confused the ministry of transportation, and I received a letter stating that my drivers license will be suspended if no additional test result is received in 30 days.I appreciate the excellent care provided by the staff.

Writing this 2 weeks post-op SMILE surgery with no complications and 20/20 vision: 10/10 experience from start to finish and would recommend everyone considering SMILE to choose Herzig eye clinic and Dr. Modabber! Right from my very first visit to the clinic, they were so friendly and thorough! Im the type of person to ask a 1000 questions and all of my questions were patiently and thoroughly answered by the optometrist and it made me feel reassured that I was choosing the right procedure and right clinic to do this. On the surgery day, they explained post-op instructions very clearly and provided all the things I will need after - eye drops, eye shields etc. Then I met Dr. Modabber so he could do an eye exam and answer any questions I have prior to surgery. So he did another thorough eye exam on top of the clinics previous one and answered a couple more questions I had. I was feeling really nervous at this point, and he reassured me multiple times that everything would go well. When you first go into the surgery room, there are clinic staff there who anesthetize your eyes and prep you for surgery, and they were the sweetest people ever, so warm and friendly! They even gave me a stress ball to squeeze during the surgery since I was nervous. Then, during the surgery, Dr. Modabber was continually communicating and letting me know my eyes were doing well and everything was going just as he expected which rlly helped me feel calm and relaxed as the surgery was progressing. After the procedure was over, Dr. Modabber did another eye exam to confirm everything is ok and I was sent home! 2 weeks later, now, I followed their eye drop schedule and rested and everything has healed with no complications! Reading the other reviews online are what helped me determine if I wanted this procedure, so wanted to add my experience now too - if youre thinking of SMILE, you should definitely do it here with Dr. Modabber! My only regret is not doing it sooner! Thank you to Herzig Eye Institute for everything!
