I had the SMILE procedure done by Dr. Milad Modabber back in October of 2022 and it remains one of the greatest decisions I've made in my life. I don't typically write reviews, but I think about this place too often to not share.Prior to the surgery I was very nervous but everyone at the Herzig Eye Institute was incredibly accommodating, allowing me to easily and guilt-free schedule multiple pre-op appointments to get my questions answered by Dr. Modabber himself as they came up.The procedure itself was easy to get through, taking minutes in total. I watched a few videos of the procedure beforehand and found it impossible to believe that the numbing eyedrops really make it so you don't feel anything, but that really was the case. Vision was a little blurry post-op, but fully at 20/20 the next morning. No pain during the recovery at all, just sensitivity to light day of. Easy 10-day eye drop regimen afterwards. No issues with halos or any other scary side effects I had read about prior to the surgery that I can't even remember anymore.It has been nearly 2 years since the surgery and my vision is still at 20/20 and I still find myself looking around in awe that my vision is this good. I can't believe I get to wake up and just see, and live an active life without my contacts constantly drying out. Thank you so much to Dr. Modabber and the Herzig Eye Institute for the gift of clear vision!
